Doppler-Lidar-Network

Poster & Vorträge

The IMK-TRO LIDAR-Network consists of three ground-bonded Doppler LIDAR-systems, which are designed especially for wind measuring.  The measurement instumentation is based on the doppler effect, which characterize the frequency shift of the scattered light on moved objects.

Centerpiece of the networks compose two “WindTracer” systems of concern Lockheed Martin Coherent Technologies: One 2μm system of the year 2004 and one 1.6 μm system with year of construction 2009 (WTX).

Both dispose a similiar controlling- and converting software, which offer a unproblematic operation as dual-doppler system. A free programmable 2-axis scanner offers any pattern of scanning.
