Guidelines for your bachelor thesis

The most important steps and necessary formalities in connection with the preparation and submission of the Bachelor's thesis are described below. These are guidelines, not a legally binding set of rules. Questions can be addressed to Kathi Maurer.

Topics and supervisors

Take a look at the list of topics currently on offer. If you are interested in a topic, please contact the supervisors listed. If you already have a more precise idea of a topic you would like to work on, but can't find anything suitable in the list, don't hesitate to write to the group leaders and tell them about your idea.

Registration and submission deadline

As soon as the start date of your Bachelor's thesis has been set, you must officially register it. To do this, go to the Examinations Office during office hours. They will check whether you meet all the requirements to be admitted to the Bachelor's thesis (you can find the requirements in the SPO). You will now receive a form that you fill out together with your supervisor and then sign and bring back to the Examinations Office. The start of your thesis will now be entered in CAS and your deadline (6 months after registration) will be recorded.

Submission of the Bachelor's thesis

The Bachelor's thesis must be submitted to the Examinations Office as a written academic paper within the 6-month deadline.
Three bound copies must be prepared and signed and submitted to the Examinations Office, together with the form for recognition as a test copy (4.0 confirmation) signed by the reviewer. You can find the form here.

The Examinations Office confirms receipt of the examination copy and the two copies, which are then submitted to the first and second examiners. The reports are prepared on the basis of these copies. The submission of the three signed copies is relevant for the 6-month deadline.
