We welcome Jannik Wilhelm at IMK-TRO as a new PhD student in the working group „Atmospheric Risks“. Jannik studied meteorology at Goethe-University in Frankfurt am Main from 2011 to 2017. He focused on theoretical atmospheric dynamics and numerical modeling; his Master’s thesis, written in the working group of Prof. Dr. Ulrich Achatz, about “The Interaction between Meso- and Sub-mesoscale Gravity Waves in Boussinesq Dynamics” was embedded in the MS-GWaves research group.

Jannik will now begin to work on the project “Seamless Prediction from Nowcasting to Short-Range Forecast for Parameters relevant to Aeronautical Meteorology”, which is a collaboration with German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach.
