  • Abstract
This thesis addresses the question how mesoscaleatmospheric conditions and land surface characteristics affect the regional atmospheric water budget. For its detailed and reliable quantification, the model system COSMO is extended and the high-resolution simulation results are combined with water vapour observations using an innovative method. Furthermore, the impact of synoptic conditions and topography on the water budgetis analysed to deriveconclusions relevant for climate change issues.
