Welcome Mega Octaviani

We welcome Mega Octaviani as a postdoctoral researcher (start 1st April 2021) in the WG Mineral Dust.

Mega will work on modelling the mineral dust cycle and its impacts with focus on the lower boundary conditions for dust modelling. Initially, her focus will be on developing and testing methods to better exploit high-resolution remote sensing data in models and on studying the impact of land-surface heterogeneity on the simulated dust cycle using the ICON-ART modelling system.

Mega has a B.Eng. from the Department of Environmental Engineering, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia, a M. Phil. from the Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Thailand, and has completed her doctorate at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz and the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry. Before joining us, Mega worked on investigating the aqueous and cloud chemistry of secondary organic aerosols (SOA) at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) in Washington, US.

We wish Mega a good start and an enjoyable time at IMK-TRO.
