You want to switch to meteorology?

If you would like to apply for a higher semester, we recommend a personal counselling interview with our study advisors.

In the Bachelor's programme Meteorology you can apply for a higher semester at any time. The prerequisite is that you have not yet lost your entitlement to take the exam in Meteorology. As in the first semester, the programme is not admission restricted.

The recognition of your achievements is regulated in the currently valid study and examination regulations.

The most important points at a glance (excerpt from SPO 2015, §19, paragraphs 1-6):

  • Recognition upon application, provided that there is no significant difference in terms of the acquired competences from the achievements or degrees that are to be replaced.
  • The principles of ECTS are applied with regard to the scope of a course work submitted for recognition (crediting).
  • Students newly enrolled in the Meteorology course must submit the application with the documents required for recognition within one semester of enrolment.
  • The examination board is responsible for recognition and crediting. In the context of determining whether there is a substantial difference within the meaning of paragraph 1, the relevant subject representatives shall be heard. The board of examiners shall decide on the placement into a higher semester depending on the type and scope of the study and examination achievements to be credited.
