Faculty teaching award 2023 for Alexander Lemburg

For outstanding teaching in the Introduction Week for international first-year students in the MSc Meteorology and Climate Physics

Dr. Alexander Lemburg has been awarded the KIT Faculty Teaching Award 2023. Each KIT department can nominate only one person or team for this award. In addition to supervising various exercises, Alexander Lemburg has rendered outstanding services to the Introduction Week, which has been offered to students in the international (English-language) Master's program in Meteorology and Climate Physics immediately before the start of the winter semester since fall 2021/2022. In this offer, the students, who often have very different professional and cultural backgrounds, receive an introduction to the organizational and cultural aspects of studying at KIT, but also learn how to deal with programming languages and software used in the courses of the program. Alexander Lemburg designed the Introduction Week together with the study program advisor Katharina Maurer and implemented it independently with a small team. In this way, he has made an important contribution to facilitating the start of successful studies at KIT for the new students.
